Moon in the Window

One night before bed my wife noticed the moon shining in through our skylight. This led me to ask the question, "How often does it do that?" The below form lets you put in details about your lat/long and the Celestial coordinate of the sky you can see through the window, and determine when the moon will be visible from it.

Finding your window's Altitude and Azimuth

The simplest way to find your window's altitude and azimuth is to use an app like SKEye. Stand under the window and point the app outside, note the Alt (altitude) and the Az (azimuth).

Reading the results

The resultant table shows an hour by hour breakdown of the moon's predicted position and the delta from your window. Search the table for the smallest delta values for both your windows altitude and azimuth and set an alarm to see the moon out your window!
